Frequently Asked Questions about Mauro Andriole's Fine Art Limited Editions
About Authenticity and Certification
1. What makes Mauro Andriole's limited editions special?
The editions are produced with the highest quality standards, using alpha-cellulose papers, pigmented inks with museum-grade durability, and individually calibrated printing processes. Additionally, they are produced in limited editions, numbered and certified by the artist.
2. How can I verify the authenticity of my limited edition?
Each edition comes with a certificate of authenticity signed by the artist, sequential numbering, and a Hahnemühle holographic seal. We also maintain a digital registry of all sold editions that can be consulted upon request.
3. What does the Hahnemühle certification mean?
The Hahnemühle certification guarantees that the print was made on genuine Hahnemühle paper, following rigorous quality standards and using calibrated equipment. The Hahnemühle holographic seal is unique for each print and can be verified online.
4. What is the durability of the limited editions?
With the materials and techniques we use, the editions have a proven durability of more than 100 years without significant color alterations or degradation, provided they are kept in adequate conservation conditions.
About Materials and Finishes
1. What are the differences between the available papers?
The Photo Rag Hahnemühle 308g is 100% cotton with a smooth texture and matte finish, ideal for reproducing subtle details and deep tones. The Art Canvas Smooth Hahnemühle offers a satin surface with greater resistance and visual impact, being ideal for larger formats.
2. Do frames affect the conservation of the artwork?
Yes. We use only frames with acid-free materials and glass with UV protection to ensure proper conservation. Frames are an integral part of preserving the artwork and have been specifically selected to aesthetically complement the editions.
3. What is the Art Glass AR 70 anti-reflective glass?
It is a special glass that eliminates up to 70% of reflections and filters 99% of harmful UV rays. This allows better viewing of the artwork and greater protection against fading caused by light.
4. Why is the mat board important?
The 5cm mat board creates a space between the artwork and the glass, preventing direct contact that could cause condensation or adhesion. Additionally, it provides a visual breathing space that enhances the composition of the artwork.
About the Production Process
1. What is the production process of a limited edition?
Each edition is produced individually on demand. The process includes color calibration specific to the artwork, printing on high-precision equipment, detailed inspection, proper drying, mounting with conservation materials, framing, and specialized packaging.
2. Can I follow the printing process of my edition?
Yes, we offer the possibility to schedule a visit to the ArtPhoto Printing studio to follow the printing process of your edition, by prior appointment.
3. What is the timeframe for producing an edition?
The average timeframe is 10 to 12 business days, considering the printing and mounting stages, which may vary according to the complexity of the chosen finish and availability of specific materials.
4. Is it possible to customize aspects of the edition beyond the standard options?
Yes, for special collectors, we can consider customizations such as different formats, special papers, or exclusive finishes. These requests are analyzed case by case to ensure they maintain the artistic integrity of the work.

About Conservation and Warranties
1. How should I conserve my limited edition?
We recommend keeping the artwork in an environment with controlled humidity (between 40-60%), stable temperature (18-24°C), and avoiding direct exposure to intense sunlight or artificial light. Each edition comes with detailed conservation instructions.
2. Is there a warranty for the limited editions?
Yes, we offer a 5-year warranty against manufacturing defects, which covers any problems related to printing, mounting, or framing. This warranty does not cover damage caused by improper handling or inappropriate conservation conditions.
3. Is it possible to restore a damaged edition?
Yes, we offer evaluation and restoration services for damaged editions, subject to specific quotation. In some cases, depending on the extent of the damage, replacement of the edition may be recommended.
4. How should I clean the glass and frame of my edition?
We recommend using only a dry microfiber cloth for the glass and a soft duster for the frame. Chemical products can damage the materials, and in case of persistent dirt, it is better to consult a specialized professional.
About Value and Investment
1. Do limited editions appreciate in value over time?
Although we cannot guarantee appreciation, historically, limited editions by recognized artists tend to appreciate, especially the first numberings of each series. We maintain a record of secondary market values that can be consulted by collectors.
2. Is there a difference in value between the numberings of the edition?
Yes, traditionally the first numberings (1/35 to 10/35) may have a differentiated value, as well as the artist's proofs (A.P.), which are extremely limited.
3. What happens when a limited edition is sold out?
Once the edition of 35 units is sold out, the work will no longer be produced in that specific format, which tends to increase the value of the original monotypes, as well as the limited fine art edition.
4. Do you offer appraisals for insurance or resale?
Yes, we provide appraisal reports for insurance or resale purposes, signed by the artist and with complete documentation about the artwork, its conservation, and current market value.
About Technical and Artistic Aspects
1. What is the difference between an original monotype and a fine art limited edition?
The original monotype is a unique work, produced through a manual printing technique that does not allow identical reproductions. The fine art limited edition is a high-fidelity digital reproduction, numbered and limited, that preserves the visual characteristics of the original work.
2. How is color calibration done to ensure fidelity to the original work?
We use a rigorous calibration process that includes color proofs approved by the artist, equipment with color profiles specific to each paper, and visual inspection under different lighting conditions.
3. Do canvas editions receive any special treatment?
Yes, canvas editions receive a protective layer of varnish that increases their resistance to moisture and abrasion, in addition to enhancing the depth of colors.
4. Is it possible to request a proof before acquiring the complete edition?
For institutional collectors or acquisitions of multiple works, we can provide a digital or physical proof under specific conditions to be agreed upon.
